BOURNEMOUTH Airport has requested permission to demolish a cluster of buildings on site.
The airport is requesting prior approval from BCP Council for the demolition of ‘aviation related maintenance buildings’.
The buildings, located near the fuel depot off McIntyre Road, are due to be vacated and are ‘approaching the end of their useful life’, according to the applicant.
Bournemouth Airport also said in the application that redevelopment or rebuilding is not proposed at a later date.
BCP Council is yet to make a decision on the application.
If approved, the demolition works are expected to begin at the beginning of August, and be completed by mid September.
The application is available to view on the planning portal at www.bcpcouncil.gov.uk
