POLICE say no evidence was found in relation to an investigation into a reported rape at a park in Poole.
It was reported a teenage girl had been raped at Upton Country Park at approximately 7pm on Sunday, June 9.
Following an investigation, police said the victim has decided not to pursue the incident further at this time.
Dorset Police received a report of the incident on Wednesday, June 12, at 9.25 am.
A cordon was in place while an investigation was carried out.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “Following extensive enquiries by detectives, including checking available CCTV footage in Upton Country Park and speaking to members of the public who were in the area at the relevant time, no evidence was found in relation to the report.
“Officers liaised with the victim to provide support, but she does not wish the case to proceed at this time.
“We would like to reassure that any victims of sexual offences will be treated with respect and dignity, and we will always investigate such reports thoroughly and sensitively.”
