A CONTENTED bundle of joy with her father's eyes is how a new mum describes the baby her partner didn't live long enough to see.
Lexi Jayda Sinclair-Toms was welcomed into the world on Monday August 25, just a few months after her dad Richard Toms passed away, aged 30.
Mum Abbie Sinclair said Richard, who was found dead in his car at Steamer Point in Mudeford on June 3, would have been "100 per cent over the moon" about Lexi.
"We had just moved into our own place," she said.
Abbie, 20, and Richard knew their baby was going to be a girl and chose the names while Abbie was pregnant.
Abbie said Lexi's eyes were going very dark and she was going to have big brown eyes, just like Richard's.
She added: "I'm loving every minute of it. She is content."
Richard worked for Tesco.com in the home deliveries department and was known as Vinyl Richie in the clubs in Bournemouth, where he worked as a DJ.
His parents, Sandra and Mick Toms, of Boscombe Grove Road, said Richard had been making plans for the future, including speaking about wanting to marry Abbie.
His death came as a big shock to everyone.
An inquest has been opened and adjourned by the coroner.
Mrs Toms said: "He had previously battled drug addiction. He conquered it. He found happiness with Abbie. He had turned his life around.
"They had just set up home together, ready and waiting for the baby, near Pokesdown.
"He was over the moon, looking forward to being a father."
Abbie is now living in Hurn with her family. A trust fund has been set up for Lexi and is open if anyone wants to contribute to it.
