ARMED POLICE were forced to negotiate with a man in possession of a knife in Poole.
Officers were alerted via the ambulance service, raising concerns for a man's welfare earlier today (June 17).
Police had to negotiate to prevent the situation from becoming threatening to members of the public.
Once the situation was under control, the man was taken into the care of the ambulance service.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 10.41am on Monday 17 June 2024 from the ambulance service raising concern for the welfare of a man at an address in Kingland Road in Poole.
“It is reported that the man was in possession of a knife. Officers attended and negotiated with the man.
“There were no threats made to members of the public and no injuries reported. He has been left in the care of the ambulance service.”
