A MAN has appeared in court in connection with robberies and attempted robberies across Bournemouth and Christchurch.
Officers were alerted to an incident outside Lidl in Bailey Drive on May 28 after a man allegedly made threats and stole a bike from a 13-year-old boy before riding away on it.
The second incident happened at around 7.30pm on May 30 when a 12-year-old boy was approached by a man who grabbed his upper clothing before attempting to steal his bike on Whitehayes Road in Burton.
The victim alerted his dad and the suspect fled the scene.
At around 11.15am on Friday 14 June 2024, a man allegedly entered Uppercut Barbers in Christchurch Road in Bournemouth and demanded money.
During the incident, it was reported that a member of staff was bitten on the arm and they attended the hospital for treatment.
In another incident that occurred on the same day, a man entered Iford stores in Christchurch Road and demanded money whilst in possession of a knife.
After extensive enquiries, a man from Christchurch was arrested in connection with the multiple incidents.
Ashley Brown, 28 has been charged with robbery and attempted robbery and appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Monday 17 June 2024.
His case is now being sent to Bournemouth Crown Court to be heard on July 18.
Detective Inspector Darren Moores, of BCP CID, said: “These types of offences can be extremely distressing for victims and we are committed to thoroughly investigating reported robberies to identify those believed to be responsible.”
