EMERGENCY services rushed to Bournemouth Airport after reports of a potential issue with an incoming plane.
Fire crews and police officers were called to the airport in Parley Lane at 2pm on Sunday, June 16.
Firefighters from Christchurch, Springbourne, Ferndown, Redhill Park and Westbourne arrived at the scene to support the on-site fire service.
A potential issue was reported with an incoming plane however, the aircraft landed safely and no action was needed.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews from Christchurch, Springbourne, Ferndown, Redhill Park and Westbourne attended the airport at 2.01pm yesterday (16 June) to support the on-site fire service after a potential issue was reported with an incoming plane.
“The aircraft landed safely and no action was needed from firefighters, so our stop was at 2.22pm.”
Ferndown fire station posted on social media: "Yesterday we were mobilised to Bournemouth airport after a report of an aircraft emergency.
"Thankfully, it landed safely, but there was a heavy emergency services response ready should the worst happen."
The nature of the emergency is unknown.
Dorset Police were contacted for more information but were unable to locate details of the incident.
Bournemouth Airport have also been contacted for further details.
