A DERELICT building was found ablaze in Poole but the cause of the fire is still unknown.
Fire crews arrived at the fire in the former Sydenhams Builders Merchants, in Blandford Road, at around 5pm on June 18.
The crew from Poole and an aerial ladder platform from Westbourne extinguished the blaze using a hose reel jet.
Police were also called to the scene but left shortly after when assistance was not required.
The fire service have confirmed a cause of the fire is unknown.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 4:57pm yesterday (18 June) with reports of a property fire on Blandford Road, Poole.
“One fire engine from Poole was sent along with one fire engine and the Aerial Ladder Platform from Westbourne and on arrival found one derelict building alight.
“Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and the stop came in at 5.14pm.”
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report from the fire service at 5.03pm on Tuesday 18 June 2024 of a fire at an unoccupied building in Blandford Road in Poole.
“It was confirmed by the fire service that no police attendance was required.
“The cause of the fire has not been confirmed at this time.”
