Durdle Door ranked among top stunning viewpoints in the UK

Durdle Door featured in joint seventh place on the list, with the county's iconic landmark clearly making an impression.

A survey of 2,000 Britons, conducted by Prospectus Global on behalf of Isuzu D-Max, saw it ranked highly.

The ranking was produced by survey respondents picking multiple favourite views from a master list.

According to the survey, the top 25 viewpoints in the UK were as follows:

1. Windermere, Lake District - 36% of those surveyed

2. St Ives Bay, Cornwall - 33%

3= St Michael's Mount, Cornwall - 25%

3= Cheddar Gorge, Somerset - 25%

3= Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, Scotland - 25%

4. The Jurassic Coast - 24%

5. York Minster - 23%

6. Brecon Beacons, Wales - 22%

7= Giant's Causeway, Northern Ireland - 21%

7= Buttermere, Lake District - 21%

7= Durdle Door, Dorset - 21%

7= The view at Stanage Edge in the Peak District, Derbyshire - 21%

Where to find Durdle Door

Durdle Door is about halfway between Weymouth and Swanage on the Lulworth Estate and is about a one-mile walk from Lulworth Cove.

If you are travelling by car you should input the BH20 5PU postcode into your satnav for the Durdle Door Holiday Park.

From there it is a relatively short walk to the arch and the beach, but it is quite steep so visitors will need to take care.
