THE METROPOLITAN Police has referred itself to the policing watchdog over contact its officers had with the man charged with murder following the Durley Chine Beach stabbing.
Amie Gray, 34 was stabbed to death on Durley Chine Beach on May 24.
Another woman, Leanne Miles, 38, suffered serious injuries and was discharged from hospital.
Nasen Saadi, 20, from Croydon has been charged with the murder of Amie and the attempted murder of Leanne.
A complaint was made to the Metropolitan Police on June 3 from a third party relating to the handling of an allegation made in February earlier this year.
The force made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) on June 7.
Saadi’s trial date is set for November 25.
