MUDEFORD ferry is back in action just in time for summer after months of issues due to stormy weather.
The popular ferry service between Mudeford Quay and the beach at Mudeford Sandbank, has been out of action since November 24 last year.
The pontoon is also used by Bournemouth Boating Services, which offers self-drive motorboats and vintage ferries between Tuckton and Mudeford Beach.
On social media, Mudeford Ferry posted: “You have been patiently waiting.
“We can now inform you of the great news the pontoon is completed and operational.
"The Mudeford Ferry will be running today from 10am to 5pm.”
In the past few weeks, construction has taken place for a new pontoon.
The pontoon at the harbourside beach of Mudeford Sandbank suffered ‘significant damage’ during Storm Ciara.
Residents took to social media to congratulate the completion of the service.
One comment read: “Wonderful news I will see you all soon.”
Another read: “This is amazing news, can't wait for our next trip.”
Mudeford Ferry typically runs every day from early April to late October, operating only at weekends in the winter, weather dependent.
