A ROAD was closed for more than four hours after a crash in the early hours of the morning.
The single vehicle crash involving a van happened on the B3145 near Poyntington north of Sherborne.
Police were called to the scene at 2.35am on Friday, June 21.
Officers attended along with the fire and ambulance services.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “The driver was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were not believed to be serious.
“Road closures were put in place as the vehicle was recovered and the road was cleared at around 7am.”
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to the B3145 at Poyntington at 2.25am this morning after a van left the carriageway and ended up on a steep embankment.
“Two crews from Sherborne attended and the van driver was helped out of the vehicle and into the care of the ambulance service. Our stop was at 4.02am.”
