TEMPORARY road closures will be in place in Bournemouth over the date of the general election.
Several roads around the Kings Park Leisure and Learning Centre will be closed for four days to help facilitate operations at the count venue.
The temporary closures will be in place from 7am on Tuesday, July 2, up to and including Friday, July 5.
The affected roads are Kings Park Drive from its junction with Holdenhurst Road for its entire length, Kings Park Central Drive from its junction with Ashley Road to its junction with Kings Park Drive, and Gloucester Road from its junction with Kings Park Drive up to the entrance to the Cemetery.
These roads will be closed to all vehicles except for permitted users. This includes no parking, no waiting and no loading/unloading. Any vehicles causing an obstruction risk receiving a penalty charge notice and being removed.
Access to the Kings Park Outdoor Pavilion polling station will not be impacted, and residents with this listed as their polling station can still drive there on election day.
In addition, some car parks will be affected; Kings Park Leisure and Learning Centre will be closed from 7am on Tuesday, July 2, to Friday, July 5, and Lorry/Coach Park, South Car Park and Stadium Car Park will also be closed from Wednesday, July 3, to Friday, July 5, except for permitted users.
A spokesperson for BCP Council said: “We thank the public for their patience during these temporary road closures, as our staff and partners carry out their important work to support democracy.”
