A LIFEBOAT was called to rescue a collapsed passenger on a ferry in Poole.
On Monday, June 17, the UK Coastguard diverted a D class lifeboat from its exercise at 5.20pm to assist a person who had collapsed onboard a ferry that was alongside Poole Quay.
At the time, the conditions were sunny, with smooth seas and a westerly F2.
The lifeboat attended the incident and carried out casualty care checks on the person who had collapsed.
A RNLI Poole Lifeboat Station spokesperson said: “Thankfully, the person was already feeling much better and was able to make their way back to the place they were staying.
The D class was released and was able to carry on with the exercise just after 5.30pm.
Volunteer helm Steve Porter said: “Great work from the ferry staff who had taken care of the poorly person and made them comfortable.”
