TROLLEYS at Castlepoint retail park will be swapped for coin-operated features with immediate effect.
The new trolleys aim to boost availability for customers, eliminate abandonment and enhance the appearance of the area.
In support of mental health charity, Dorset Mind, Castlepoint have made a donation which includes the team giving away 2,000 Mind-branded tokens.
The tokens aim to help customers with the trolley transition, which will take place over several days.
Shoppers can collect the token from the Castlepoint pod outside M&S at various times over this week, with timings being shared on its social media.
In the theme of “good mental health” and connected communities, Castlepoint will be launching an open summer garden for shoppers to enjoy the sun in the summer months.
From June 27 to September 15 a 32-metre landscaped area in the lower car park, near the downstairs entrance to M&S, will be transformed into a summer garden.
The space will host a variety of sports and music festivals with a 3.5 metre LED screen.
The summer initiative will kick off on Thursday, June 27 for Glastonbury, followed by a schedule that will include Wimbledon, the Euros, Tour De France, Reading Festival and more.
Designed to be enjoyed by all, the summer garden will be fitted with an array of seating and picnic benches, with morning screenings of CBeebies.
David Pickett, centre manager of Castlepoint, said: “We are proud to continue supporting Dorset Mind with the roll out of our free Mind-branded trolley tokens, which should make a positive difference for shoppers, boosting trolley availability and enhancing the appearance of Castlepoint and the surrounding areas.
“After seeing so many shoppers enjoying the Chatty Benches and wellness initiatives during Mental Health Awareness Week, it felt the right thing to keep togetherness at the heart of the Castlepoint experience; we can’t wait to see our shoppers enjoying our new Open Summer Garden, which kicks off from Thursday 27 June.”
