A MAN has been charged with cultivating cannabis after an incident in Southbourne.
An armed response unit, multiple police vans and the force’s helicopter were all deployed to an incident at Fisherman’s Avenue on June 17.
A man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and drug offences.
Following enquiries, the arrested woman has been released and will face no further action.
The arrested man, Andrew Wiseman, 62, of Bournemouth, has been charged with cultivation of cannabis plant which is a class B controlled drug.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "The arrested man will face no further action for the weapons offence. However, he has been charged with cultivating cannabis.
"He has been bailed to court and is due to appear in September."
He is due to attend Poole Magistrates' Court on September 16 later this year.
