A MUCH-loved Land Rover Defender was stolen overnight in Bournemouth.
The blue and white 2004 Land Rover Defender was stolen in Talbot Woods sometime between 9pm on June 20 and 11am on June 21.
Owner, Harry MacLeod-Ash, 23, claimed the vehicle 'vanished' with no signs of where it went.
Harry only noticed it had gone missing when he had planned to brunch with his girlfriend the next morning.
He said: "We've been around to all the local houses trying to get CCTV and it literally vanished.
"We went out the next day and I wanted to take her out for brunch and we were arguing over who was going to drive and at 11am I realised my car was gone.
"I assumed it had been towed because there are road works going on so I phoned the council who gave me three towing companies they use and none of them had it.
"I was in denial but I realised that the reality of it was that it had been stolen."
Harry has been left devastated by the theft as the car has been in his family's ownership since 2012.
On top of this, it was one of the first cars he drove and he spent much of the Covid pandemic fixing it up after he crashed it in 2019.
He said: "I drove up to Scotland to do a job in October 2019 and I bent the bulkhead and, because of lockdown, spent weeks in lockdown rebuilding it.
"It's been such an iconic car within our family and it's just such a classic. I'd always take my mates to the pub in it, drive with a big group in it down to the beach with barbecues."
Harry's wallet was also stolen which contained £120 and was in the car.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "Dorset Police received a report at around 12.10pm on Friday 21 June 2024 of the theft of a Land Rover Defender in Walsford Road in Bournemouth.
"The incident occurred between 9pm on Thursday 20 June and 11am on Friday 21 June 2024. Officers will continue to explore any available lines of enquiry.
"No arrests have been made at this time."
