A PROPERTY was raided in Bournemouth this morning as the police investigate the supply of class A and class B drugs.
Officers executed a warrant at the property in Madison Avenue, near the junction with Holdenhurst Road, this morning, Wednesday, June 26.
Residents reported seeing armed police at around 6.30am.
One neighbour said: “This morning, at half past six in the morning, I heard lots of police here, the road was closed.
“I saw the police with guns, they put the door down.
“There were lots of screams inside the house, after that, at about 7am, quarter past seven, everyone just go, the police stay here because they are doing an investigation."
Two people have been arrested on suspicion of drugs supply offences.
Dorset Police said the operation was pre-planned, and there was nothing to indicate a wider risk to the public.
The county force added there would be increased police presence in the area while the investigation continues.
Police dogs were seen going in and out of the property and searching a car parked in the road.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “During the morning of Wednesday 26 June 2024, officers executed a warrant at an address off Holdenhurst Road in the King’s Park area of Bournemouth under section 8 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 as part of an investigation into the reported supply of class A and class B drugs in the area.
“Two people have been arrested on suspicion of drugs supply offences.
“We would like to reassure members of the local community that this is a pre-planned targeted operation and there is nothing to indicate any wider risk to the public.
“There will be an increased police presence in the vicinity as enquiries are carried out.”
