AFC Bournemouth football team and pop stars D-Side teamed up with more than 300 children in an attempt to break a world record.
A total of 372 people took to the pitch at the Fitness First Stadium, Dean Court, to touch their noses, wave their arms in the air and cluck like a chicken in the world’s biggest ever game of Simon Says.
By following the instructions of 2CR FM’s Graham Mack and Richie Firth for 10 minutes, they wrote their names in the record books on July 13, 2004.
The entire AFC Bournemouth first team, including Club captain Steve Fletcher who confidently proclaimed himself to be “the best Simon Says player by far”.
They were joined by the five members of D-Side, who were taking their first look at the stadium where they performed on August 1.
Chart-toppers Blue will headlined the Party on the Pitch extravaganza, which was supported by Liberty X, Lemar, Atomic Kitten duo Liz McClarnon and Jenny Frost and D-Side - pictures of which we will re-explore at a later date.
More than 300 children from 40 schools in Bournemouth took part.
