A "quintessentially British" Poole beach has been named among the best UK seaside picnic spots according to a new list.
Branksome Chine was included alongside six other locations in a feature from The Times.
Discussing the creation of the list, they wrote: "Throw down your tartan rug and unclasp the wicker hamper — it’s the season for the Great British Picnic.
"Whether you do yours wild and remote or posh and Pimm’s-fuelled, we’ve found the perfect coastal spots for a long lazy lunch. But you won’t want to budge far afterwards — so we’ve picked seven beachy locations that warrant a whole weekend too."

What was said about Branksome Chine?
Branksome Chine was praised for its "soft sands" alongside the various activities you could do there.
The publication wrote: "In between the amusement arcades and candyfloss of Bournemouth beach and the mega mansions of Sandbanks sits Branksome Chine.
"There are deckchairs for hire and beachfront benches, or soft sands for your blanket and bare feet.
"Watch seawater swimmers, kitesurfers and beach yogis do their thing, all loving life on this quintessentially British blue-flag beach.
"Get your picnic — a zip-up cooler of sandwiches, scones and fizz — from the Nici hotel, a stylish seaside stay, where guests can use the free peppermint-green push bikes and cycle along the prom until they find the perfect spot."
Branksome Chine as a whole has also been well-received by visitors with a score of 4.5/5 on Tripadvisor from 244 ratings.

One person wrote: "This is a beautiful area. The beach was so clean and it welcomed dogs too. Everyone we met on our beach dog walks were very friendly."
Another shared: "a great location, parking and excellent cafe, sandy beach for miles with RNLI lifeguards. nice promenade, beach huts and coffee/icecream stops."
Meanwhile, another posted: "Great location for enjoying Bournemouth and Poole's wonderful beaches. Facilities are very good and there is a choice of longish walks in either direction."
