I READ with a bit of horror really that Moors Valley Country Park have had a liquor licence granted. This is a great place to go for families and children. Do the powers that be think that by selling alcohol that this will bring in millions of pounds in extra revenue?
Does a country park that attracts families on a family day out need to sell alcohol?
Does anyone of the councillors on the licensing committee have any experience about selling alcohol?
It certainly does not seem like it.
Can they not see that alcohol in surroundings like a country park is a stupid idea and whoever thought of this did not give it much thought. As for the licensing committee to grant the licence I can only assume that they do not live near or around the country park. This decision is worse than letting the weeds and grass grow.
