APPLICATIONS are now open to run for a homeless charity's team at the TCS London Marathon next year.

Team YMCA will be competing in the capital on April 27, 2025 and is asking for a £100 registration fee as well as a minimum sponsorship target of £1,900.

The deadline for applications to be a part of team YMCA is Wednesday, July 31 and applicants will hear from the YMCA with the outcome of their application in August.

This year, the YMCA will not be allocating places on a first come first served basis. Instead, applications will be reviewed based on quality – with a passion for YMCA’s work and a solid fundraising plan, being key success criteria.

All funds raised for YMCA Bournemouth will be used to provide support for people who were homeless and are now part of the YMCA family.

Gareth Sherwood, chief executive of the YMCA Bournemouth, said: “We believe everyone deserves a safe place they can call home, every stride taken in this marathon is a step towards giving hope and a home to those in need.

“Your effort is not just a run, but a share in the journey we run daily to change lives.”
