WORK continues at pace at AFC Bournemouth’s new Canford training ground, with a new application for advertising hoardings around pitches now submitted.

A cover letter from Savills on behalf of the club attached to the application said the new hoardings would be around four pitches, along the sidelines, behind and around the goals and around the dugouts.

Advertising consent has also been sought for advertising on the pavilion and on the outside of the indoor pitch.

The letter said: “AFCB are seeking approval for the location, type and size of sponsor signs at the consented training ground facility.

“The images/words of the proposed sponsor signs will be determined once AFCB has concluded commercial negotiations with potential sponsors.”

As reported, Cherries purchased the former golf club site for £3.75m in January 2018, before plans for the £32m project were approved in October 2019.

Some training is already taking place at the training ground, with academy and women’s sessions being run in the indoor dome.

The club announced in May that work is on track for the first team to move in during this coming season, in January 2025.

A topping out ceremony was held for the main building at the site in April.

A neighbour consultation will run until August 13. There is no date set for a decision at this stage.
