THE Destination Management Board Tourism Awards has issued a final call for entries before the nomination deadline. 

Initially set to close on Saturday, July 6, the organisers have granted a brief extension, with a new deadline of Friday, July 12 at midnight. 

These awards, covering 19 categories, are open to businesses actively involved in tourism and significantly contributing to the visitor economy by attracting customers from outside Dorset. 

Awards are available for large and small hotels, self catering, takeaway experience, attraction of the year, responsible, ethical, and sustainable tourism, contribution to BCP tourism, education and night life experience. 

Other categories include eating out experience, café/tearoom, team of the year, restaurant of the year, industry support, event of the year, business engagement, rising star, tourism business of the year and best customer service of the year. 

Applications should cover the period from July 2023 to July 2024, with a minimum operating period of 12 months required. 

Finalists will be announced on September 12 at The Captain’s Club in Christchurch, with a gala evening scheduled for November 8 at the Hilton Hotel Bournemouth
