A CHARITY music festival will return to Swanage this summer.

Swanage’s fourth Music by the Sea memorial event is at Prince Albert Gardens on August 31.

The event supports local charities, with artists and bands performing for free.

Music by the Sea was set up in 2021 to celebrate the life of local Henry Searle, who lost his seven-year battle with a brain tumour on Easter Sunday, April 2021, aged 25 years.

An event organiser said: “Henry was a big music-lover and played himself in bands with friends in and around the town.

“This year a Freddie Mercury party is on the line up for the crowd to join in and sing along to all the songs Henry sang and enjoyed.”

The summer event returns with a line-up of artists playing through the decades-themed party from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s to date, from James Bond to soul, the sixties and seventies, disco, rock n roll, and DJ sets.

Tickets are on sale in partnership with Swanage Railway and online at swanagerailway.co.uk/events.
