A BOURNEMOUTH mum-of-two diagnosed with terminal cancer wants to take her children to Disneyland before it’s too late.

Sam Funnell, 41, lives with her husband Rob, and sons Mickey, 3, and Herbie, 5.

She was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2021 and beat the condition into remission.

On April 24 this year, a different cancer affecting her spine and bones caused her condition to worsen and become terminal.

Now, a fundraiser has been created by a Parkstone nursery so Sam can make some lasting memories with her family.

One of Sam’s sons attends Cuddles Day Nursery which created the GoFundMe for Sam and her family.

The fundraising page reads: “This family's wonderful mother received this diagnosis just months ago and it’s such devastating news, she is the first to offer a helping hand, the first to offer a smile and a reassuring hug.”

The GoFundMe will hopefully fund a visit to Disneyland.

Talking about the struggle of the past two years, Rob said: “As a family, we're shocked to find out Sam's cancer had returned and was already stage 4.

“We've been through cancer together as a family as Sam was initially diagnosed with breast cancer when Mickey was six-month-old. She had been in remission for two years when we found out that it had returned.

“This time we've exhausted all our savings and have already had help from charities last time so, with funds being short for all charities, this time we're on our own, together.

“It is every child’s dream to go to Disney, and Sam is a huge Disney fan, our boys love Marvel. It's been a dream to visit Disneyland but now the rush is on to make sure we get there together as a family while Sam is well enough.”

Rob also paid tribute to Cuddles Nursery, he added: “We can't thank Cuddles Nursery Parkstone enough for setting all this in motion.

“We are truly grateful for every donation, raffle tickets or even just sharing the posts to raise more awareness.”

Donations to the family can be made via a GoFundMe titled: A family living with terminal cancer.
