A MOBILE phone left on top of bedding caught alight at a high-rise building.
The fire happened at a block of flats in Oxford Road, Bournemouth, at 6.57am on Monday, July 15.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a smell of smoke and alarms sounding.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “The smoke was traced to a fifth floor flat, where a mobile phone left on top of bedding had caught alight, although the fire was out when we arrived.”
Fire crews attended from Westbourne, Springbourne, Redhill Park and Christchurch, along with the aerial ladder platform from Westbourne.
Firefighters ventilated the area and the incident was dealt with at 7.15am.
