A MAN remains on the run after a woman was assaulted at a home in Canford Heath.

Officers are continuing their manhunt after several officers were called to a “disturbance” in Chaldon Road at around 10am on Friday, July 12.

According to Dorset Police, the woman was assaulted by a man, but no serious injuries were reported.

He left the area prompting a major search around Canford Heath involving armed police, drones and a police helicopter.

Meanwhile, while on the scene, officers arrested another man, aged 39 and from Bournemouth, and a woman, 38 and of Poole, on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.

The pair have been released under investigation while enquiries continue, a spokeswoman for Dorset Police said.

A specialist search team was seen inside a home next to the park – but it’s unclear what they were looking for.

Prior to that, officers were seen coming in and out with bags of evidence and a cordon was put up around the house and park.

One resident, who declined to give his name, said at the time: "They've been here since about 10.30am coming and going out of the road.

"I've seen them come out with bags of things. Nobody knows what is going on, the police have not told us anything."
