AN INQUEST has opened into the death of a man who was found by his mother in his home in Bournemouth.

Kacper Michalak, 21, was pronounced dead by paramedics after his mother found him unresponsive.

Senior coroner for Dorset, Racheal Griffin, opened the inquest into his death at Bournemouth Town Hall on July 16.

Coroner’s officer, Pip Morgan, told Dorset Coroner’s Court that Kacper was born on May 26, 2003 in Poland.

At the time of his death he was single and unemployed, living at an address in Broadway, Northbourne in Bournemouth.

“On June 18 Kacper was found unresponsive by his mother,” said Ms Morgan.

“She called an ambulance but sadly paramedics confirmed him deceased.”

Police officers attended the scene but found no suspicious circumstances.

Kacper was formally identified by his mother to police.

A postmortem examination as conducted by Dr Muhaisen found his provisional cause of death to be multiple drug use.

Ms Griffin requested statements from Kacper’s family, GP and mental health, drug and alcohol teams if he was known to them.

The full inquest into his death was adjourned until January 30, 2025 at 10am.
