ENGLAND might not have won this year, but a Bournemouth-based travel firm has, after reporting a big sales boost post-Euros.
Not Just Travel has seen a sales boom since the Euros and general election, with a 25 per cent sales boost in bookings.
Steve Witt, co-founder of Bournemouth-based Not Just Travel and its recruitment arm The Travel Franchise, said bookings this week have been up 25 per cent on an average day.
He compared it to a January booking day, which is traditionally the busiest month of the year for the travel industry.
Steve said: "A convergence of factors has created an ideal environment for a surge in last-minute bookings.
“With the conclusion of the Euros, the general election result bolstering economic stability and consumer confidence, consistently disappointing weather, and our travel consultants actively engaging their client networks, everything is perfectly aligned.
“We are seeing a significant sales boost as we approach the summer holidays."
He added the surge is from people who were undecided but have now committed to a holiday in the sun.
Cruise sales are up more than 60 per cent on last year and the firm has also seen the average age of the cruise traveller consistently reduced by a year, every year since the pandemic.
Earlier this week, Not Just Travel consultant Alex Harding made a £41k booking for four customers to Singapore and Thailand on business class flights.
Alex said: “Now that the Euros and general election are over, clients are concentrating on their favourite purchase of the year - holidays.
“Clients are telling us that they are fed-up with what has been a washout of a summer and can’t wait to get away for some guaranteed sunshine.
“Enquiries are now converting into bookings as the customer mindset has shifted.”
