THE following cases were heard at Poole Magistrates' Court:
RICHARD MAGUIRE, 63 and of Walton Road in Bournemouth, admitted three counts of assault by beating after assaulting three males in Walton Road in Bournemouth on December 5, 2023. He was handed a community order lasting until January 17, 2025, and ordered to pay compensation of £300.
JACK SUTHERLAND, 23 and of Ash End in Templecombe, admitted driving without third party insurance, and two counts of drug driving, when the proportion of THC in his blood was no less than 7.1 ug/L and the proportion of MDMA in his blood was no less than 62 ug/L, in Marlborough Road in Bournemouth on January 9. He was disqualified from driving for 20 months. He was also fined £900, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £360 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
SHANE JAMIESON, 33 and of Horseshoe Close in Blandford Forum, admitted possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, namely a Samurai sword in St George’s Drive in Bournemouth on December 26, 2023. He admitted driving without third party insurance, and drug driving, when the proportion of Benzoylecgonine in his blood was no less than 254mcg, in St George’s Drive in Bournemouth on December 26, 2023. He admitted being the driver of a vehicle involved in a road accident who failed to report that accident, and being the driver of a vehicle who failed to stop after a road accident, in Christchurch Road in West Parley on December 7, 2023. He admitted failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence when required by Dorset Police on January 7. He admitted a further three counts of drug driving in Yarrow Road in Poole on November 4, 2023, when the proportion of Benzoylecgonine in his blood was 480 micrograms per litre, the proportion of cocaine was 26 micrograms per litre, and the proportion of THC was 4.2 micrograms per litre. He was disqualified from driving for three years and handed a community order lasting until July 17, 2025, with a requirement to complete 150 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £114.
ASHLEY HOOPER, 37 and of Bournemouth, admitted criminal damage to property after damaging the storefront windows to the value of £3700 at Choppa Vapes in High Street in Poole on July 17. He was jailed for eight weeks and ordered to pay compensation of £300.
MEHMET UCAL, 39 and of Hadlow Road in Kent, admitted failing without reasonable cause to surrender to custody at Poole Magistrates' Court on March 21, having been released on bail in criminal proceedings on February 15. He was fined £250.
JAMES BALLARD, 30 and of Oldridge Road in Weymouth, was found guilty of driving a vehicle when a period in excess of five years had elapsed since he obtained a certificate of professional competence as required by regulation 9(1) of the Vehicle Drivers (Certificates of Professional Competence) Regulations 2007, on the A31 at Ashley Heath on August 29, 2023. He was found guilty of using a vehicle to which section 97 of the Transport Act 1968 applied and failed to use a record sheet, in contravention of Article 15(2) of the Community Recording Equipment Regulation, on the A31 at Ashley Heath on August 29, 2023. He was fined £880, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £352 and costs of £302.
