POLICE say there is no indication a man was stabbed in Boscombe.

Dorset Police previously received reports a man had been stabbed in Christchurch Road at around 10am on Thursday, July 18.

A man was located with injuries not believed to be serious with a cordon put in place to allow an examination of the area to be carried out.

However, following an investigation into the reported assault, police say there is no indication the man was stabbed.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “Following further enquiries by detectives, including speaking to witnesses and obtaining CCTV footage, there is no indication at this time that the man was stabbed or that a knife was involved in the incident.

“The man sustained minor injuries to his hand during the incident and attended hospital for treatment.”

While officers were in attendance, a 32-year-old woman from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a constable in the execution of their duty. She has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

An investigation is continuing to determine the details of what happened, which is believed to involve people known to each other. No further arrests have been made at this time.

The spokesperson added: “We would like to thank the community for their patience and understanding while the cordon was in place and enquiries were carried out in the vicinity.”
