WEAPONS, drugs and cash have been seized during a raid of a Poole home.
The raid was carried out in the Hamworthy area as part of a ‘Day of Action’ by Poole Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) on July 18.
Covert officers were deployed in plain clothes to identify drug dealings, whilst uniformed officers conducted high visibility patrols and communicated via two-way radio.
During the operation, a young individual was stopped and searched under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act after he was seen 'exchanging items' with another person.
A large quantity of cannabis was located and the pair were arrested under suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs.
Because of the concern for supply, a Section 18 warrant was authorised for the home address in Hamworthy.
During the search, a substantial quantity of cannabis was reportedly seized, along with two offensive weapons, large sums of cash, and valuables, which police suspect were purchased from criminal property.
Following the warrant, Poole Police posted on social media: “Alongside enforcement, safeguarding is also put in place to protect the vulnerable and we work closely with other professionals to ensure individuals receive the correct help.
"The supply of drugs has a real detrimental impact on the local community and can introduce serious crime/violence to the area, county lines operations and disturbances at antisocial hours to name just a few.
"Community intelligence is vital and assists on building a bigger picture of criminal activity, which in turn enables us to conduct targeted activity such as 'days of action' and warrants.”
