A REFERENDUM for Christchurch’s Neighbourhood Plan is due to be held next autumn.
The Neighbourhood Plan Working Group (NPWG) gave the update at Christchurch Town Council’s planning meeting this month.
The chairman explained that the plan was currently being drafted and that the first draft would be completed by the end of August 2024.
It was noted that the referendum was planned for around November 2025.
Neighbourhood Plans provide a way for communities to have a say in the future of the places where they live and work.
Christchurch Town Council has identified five key themes for the town’s plan, ‘getting about’, ‘green and open spaces’, ‘town centre, shops and services’, ‘design and heritage’, and ‘place-making opportunities’.
The NPWG has already presented its progress to the public through a series of online and face-to-face consultations.
