MORE displays have been announced for the final Bournemouth Air Festival which will return next month.
Flying all three days this year will be two Leonardo AW159 Wildcat maritime attack helicopters which can reach maximum speeds of 180mph.
Meanwhile the Firebirds will be making a welcomed return for both during day and evening displays, the latter promising a mesmerising display as part of the night air programme.
And fan favourite Rich Goodwin will return with his display with his unique Aerobytes Jet Pitts G-JPIT bi-plane, which he reengineered to include two massive ATM Lynx Jet engines.
Rich, who built the plane from his garden shed, said: “Normally we go along a runway and once we’re in the air we accelerate to 130 and 140 knots, before we can start doing any manoeuvring.
“With this plane you get airborne at 60-70 knots and ease into the vertical and go straight up! You may well have seen the Typhoon do that manoeuvre.”
The Royal Air Force’s Eurofighter Typhoon, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, featuring the iconic Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane, and the RAF Tutor are all coming back.
This year’s event will be taking place over three days from Thursday, August 29 to Saturday, August 31.
