A BOURNEMOUTH teenager has been named the fourth best in the world for his category in the international Dance World Cup 2024.
Tyler Vandevelde won the title of fourth under 18, male acro soloist in the world at the competition hosted in Prague.
Acro dance is a style of dance that combines classical techniques with acrobatic elements.
Tyler said: "Being selected to compete in both an acro solo and a large hip hop group is an opportunity I never imagined I could achieve before joining Steppin’ Out Academy.
“Hearing my name announced as the 4th best under-18 male acro dancer in the world was an incredibly surreal moment. It was a powerful validation of all the hard work and dedication I have put into dance.
“This year, the competition was held in Prague, Czech Republic, at the Prague Congress Centre.
“With participants from 62 countries, the competition is fierce.
“Entrants must submit a video or audition, and the highest-scoring performances are chosen to represent their countries.
“The event featured three stages and numerous judges from the dance industry."
