FIREFIGHTERS rushed to a Poole nature reserve after a blaze broke out on the heath.
Fire crews were called to Bourne Valley nature reserve at 11.11pm on July 22 after reports of a fire on the heath.
Two fire engines were sent along with a small 4x4 appliance and a water carrier from Poole.
Firefighters found an area approximately 100m x 30m well alight and quickly surrounded the blaze using four hose reel jets to extinguish it.
A cause is currently unknown.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to Bourne Valley nature reserve at 11.11pm last night (22 July) with reports of the heath on fire.
“We sent two fire engines, a small 4x4 appliance and a water carrier from Poole, and firefighters found an area of approx. 100m x 30m well alight.
“The fire was quickly surrounded and four hose reel jets were used to extinguish it.
“Our stop was at 11.45pm and we had left the scene by 12.15am.”
