The person who recorded the incident wished to remain anonymous but told the Daily Echo: “I first heard a lot of honking and then I heard some yelling.
“That’s when I looked out my window and saw two drivers had got out their cars and were yelling each other. I couldn’t really hear what they were saying.
“I was starting to film and then it started to progress. I didn’t notice one of them had a bat until he started smashing the window of the car.”
They said the incident only lasted a few minutes, and ended in the men both driving off.
Dorset Police confirmed it received a report of a man in possession of a baseball bat at 3.56pm on Saturday, July 20.
It was further reported the man had damaged a vehicle and caused an injury to another man.
The injured man was identified and spoken to but did not require hospital treatment, police said.
Giving an update on Tuesday, Dorset Police said: “Enquiries into the incident are ongoing. No arrests have been made."
