A POOLE café has announced it is closing after nearly 30 years of service.
The Truckstop Café on Poole Quay has been forced to close for reasons ‘beyond its control’.
The popular café will be closing its doors on August 2.
Truckstop café offers classic British breakfast from bacon butties to beans on toast and has been a hub for many traders in the area.
Manager Lyndsay Russell said: “This is extremely sad, our customers are devastated, Truckstop has been the hub of the dock for 27 years.
“It’s been very emotional these last few weeks having to tell our very loyal customers of our closure.
“We’ve made lifelong friends here and everyone is so sad about the news.
“But its circumstances out of all our control.
“Plans for the future are unsure at the moment but there’s a sister café at Mannings Heath called Churchill which may be of interest to our customers going forward.”
Lyndsay also praised her hard-working team.
She added: “We would like to thank the team at Truckstop for all their hard work they have been amazing good luck for your future.”
Speaking on the decision behind opening the café nearly 30 years ago, Lyndsay added: “Years ago, the owner had three cafes on the docks and gave two back and kept Truckstop which was also known as Southcoast café."
"The café was mainly for truck drivers, employees, clients at Sunseeker, and the general public."
A post on social media from the café announcing its closure read: “It is with regret as from Friday 2nd August Truckstop will be closing.
“We would like to thank all our loyal customers for your support over the years and it’s been a lot of years.
"Sadly, we’re having to close circumstances out of our control so please come in and support us for our final week."
The post was met with positive comments, one person wrote: “Sending you all much love I'm sorry to hear this sad news.”
Truckstop Cafe is located at Poole docks.
