THE following cases were heard at Poole Magistrates' Court:

MARK GEOFFERY COOK, 56 and of Bankside in Wimborne, admitted using a vehicle when a policy of insurance was not in force in Wimborne Road in Poole on April 15, 2023. He got six points on his licence. He was also fined £230, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £92 and costs of £320 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

ADAM COX, 32 and of Christchurch, admitted theft from a shop after stealing various supplements valued at £66.48 from Holland & Barrett in The Dolphin shopping centre in Poole on February 24. He was conditionally discharged for a period of 12 months and ordered to pay compensation of £66.48.

KOBYRAJAH BAAKIYANATHAN, 38 and of Spencer Road in Bournemouth, admitted possession of a knife blade / sharp pointed article in a public place, namely a large kitchen knife, in Cotlands Road in Bournemouth on April 27. He admitted two counts of failing to surrender to police / court bail at the appointed time, namely failing without reasonable cause to surrender to custody at Poole Magistrates' Court on June 4 and July 17. He was jailed for four months. Court records say the defendant had ‘no compliance with probation’ and was a ‘risk to public’.

PHILIP MORETON, 39 and of Colehill in Wimborne, admitted assault by beating after assaulting a woman in Colehill on June 26. He was handed a community order lasting until January 22, 2026, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £114.

LOVEJOY NHETA, 22 and of Draycott Road in Bournemouth, admitted failing without reasonable excuse to comply with the requirements of a community order made by Maidstone Magistrates Court on September 29, 2023. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay costs of £60.

KIMBERLEY HOCKEY, 29 and of Wimborne Road in Bournemouth, admitted criminal damage to property after damaging a glass door panel to the value of £545.10 at The Avenue Centre in Commercial Road in Bournemouth on March 6. He was conditionally discharged for a period of 12 months and ordered to pay compensation of £545.10.

HELDER FERNANDES ABREU, 23 and of Frost Road in Bournemouth, admitted possession of a controlled drug of Class B, namely 10.04g of Cannabis, in Frost Road in Bournemouth on April 30. He was fined £80, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

KIERAN COVEY, 20 and of Warwick Close in South Holmwood, admitted driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above limit, namely 65 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, in Cherries Drive in Bournemouth of May 14. He was disqualified from driving for 17 months. He was also fined £120, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £48 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

OKTAY KAYMAZ, 41 and of Pound Close in Poole, admitted driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above limit, namely 74 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, in Ringwood Road in Poole on May 14. He was disqualified from driving for 22 months. He was fined £101, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £40, and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

JAMES COX, 42 and of Stoneley in Weston-Super-Mare, admitted breaching a domestic violence protection order in Wimborne on July 23, by ‘using or threatening violence’ against a woman. He was fined £50.

LEWIS BROWN, 21 and of Library Road in Poole, admitted theft from a shop after stealing a duvet to the value of £49.99 from Homesense in Poole on November 12, 2023. He was ordered to pay compensation of £49.99.

TERRY HOWRIHANE, 48 and of Bournemouth, admitted two counts of vehicle interference after interfering with two vehicles with the intention of theft, in Holdenhurst Road and St Paul’s Road in Bournemouth on April 21. He admitted theft from a motor vehicle after stealing property from a vehicle in St Paul’s Road in Bournemouth on April 21. He was handed a community order lasting until January 21, 2025. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £114 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

TIMOTHY TINTON, 45 and of Bournemouth, admitted ten counts of theft from a shop after stealing beauty products to the value of £200 from Boots in Christchurch Road in Bournemouth on March 23, stealing ten bottles of wine to the value of £91.75 from Co-op in Christchurch Road in Bournemouth on April 23, stealing beauty products to the value of £130.98 from Boots in Christchurch Road in Bournemouth on April 23, stealing alcohol to the value of £96 from Co-op in Seabourne Road in Bournemouth on June 25, stealing alcohol to the value of £26.55 from Co-op in Charminster Road in Bournemouth on May 7, stealing alcohol to the value of £104 from Co-op in Seabourne Road in Bournemouth on June 25, stealing alcohol to the value of £62.40 from Co-op in Charminster Road in Bournemouth on June 13, stealing alcohol to the value of £3 from Co-op in Seabourne Road in Bournemouth on June 27, stealing alcohol to the value of £47.10 from Co-op in Charminster Road in Bournemouth on May 21, and stealing alcohol to the value of £83 from Co-op in Charminster Road in Bournemouth on June 11. He was jailed for eight weeks.

THOMAS SWEENEY, 19 and of Darknoll Lane in Okeford Fitzpaine, admitted failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis to police in Bournemouth on May 10. He was handed a 12 week prison sentence suspended for 18 months and disqualified from driving for 17 months. He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 from the Crown Prosecution Service.

SWARAN SINGH, 24 and of Dartmouth Avenue in Walsall, admitted using a motor vehicle on a road / public place without third party insurance, and driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above limit, namely with 62 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, in Matchams Lane at Hurn on May 11. They were disqualified from driving for 17 months, fined £120, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £48, and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

SARAH KERSHAW, 43 and of Castleton Avenue in Bournemouth, admitted driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above limit, namely with 135 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, in Horsham Avenue in Bournemouth on May 10. She was disqualified from driving for 30 months and handed a community order lasting until July 21, 2025, with a requirement to complete 100 hours of unpaid work. She was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £114 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

MATTHEW BALCHIN, 44 and of Washington Avenue in Bournemouth, admitted possession of a controlled drug of Class B, namely 1.5g of Cannabis / Cannabis Resin, in Bournemouth on January 14. He admitted using a motor vehicle on a road / public place without third party insurance in Wimborne Road in Bournemouth on January 14. He admitted two counts of driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit, namely no less than 4.1 micrograms of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and no less than 95 micrograms of Benzoylecgonine per litre of blood, in Wimborne Road in Bournemouth on January 14. He was disqualified from driving for 24 months. He was also fined £1230, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £492 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
