A MAN has been issued a dispersal notice after being seen ‘highly intoxicated’ near student accommodation.
Police officers were called to an area outside Bournemouth University accommodation blocks after reports of a drunk man causing issues.
The man was dealt with by officers who issued a dispersal notice, preventing him from entering the area for 24 hours.
A spokesperson for Bournemouth Police said: “Today PC Greg and PC Mike were straight out of the door after briefing to deal with a drunk male who was causing issues outside one of the Bournemouth Uni blocks.
“The male was quickly located and was clearly very intoxicated. PC Greg and PC Mike took the male home to sober up and got straight back out on patrol.
“PC Cara and PC Bob have been busy too dealing with ASB begging and drug use in Bournemouth Gardens.
“After the male was stop searched, they issued a s35 dispersal notice that will keep him out of the area for 24 hrs.
“Bournemouth South NPT is committed to dealing with ASB of any sort and it will do so robustly when we are available to do so.
“We understand that ASB can have a massive impact on your local area so please report it via the Dorset Police website.”
