FIREFIGHTERS rescued an injured motorcyclist and brought them to an area of safety after a crash with a car near Wimborne.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to Witchampton at 3.21pm on July 24 alongside Dorset Police and the South Western Ambulance Service.
Two fire crews from Verwood and Poole attended the scene and helped to move the casualty to safety and in the hands of the ambulance service.
Police previously said the collision involved a car and a motorbike with the motorcyclist having sustained injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to Cranborne Road, Witchampton at 3.21pm yesterday (24 July) following a road traffic collision.
“Two crews attended, from Verwood and Poole, and firefighters helped to move one casualty to a place of safety in support of the ambulance service.
“Our stop was at 4.09pm.”
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We were called at 3.11pm on Wednesday 14 July 2024 to a report of a collision involving a car and a motorbike in Witchampton Lane at the junction with the B3078.
“Officers are in attendance with the fire and ambulance services. Recovery requested for both vehicles.
“The motorcyclist has sustained injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.”
