DRIVERS aged between 30 to 34 are most likely to have injuries in a crash, Dorset Police’s data shows.
A total of 3,064 people were injured in crashes on the county’s roads between January 2023 and March 2024, of which 35 people were killed.
Dorset Police recorded that 324 people aged between 30 and 34 in crashes were either killed, seriously injured or slightly injured.
The data, published by the force, also reveals that in 2023 there were four children aged under 10 injured, three of which were seriously hurt.
Four people aged between 40 and 44 were killed in crashes on Dorset roads, the highest in any age bracket.
Those between 15 and 19 – a group often associated with dangerous driving – saw 221 injuries since 2023, including 45 that resulted in serious injury.
The data does not include medical episodes, off-road collisions or confirmed suicides.
RAC head of policy Simon Williams said: “Any number of deaths on the road is too many, so we strongly encourage the new Government not to take these figures lightly and to make road safety a priority.
“We continue to believe the Government should reinstate road casualty reduction targets.”
