TWO people have been left with serious injuries after a crash destroyed two cars in Wimborne.

Police were called to the B3078 on Cranborne Road at around 7.20am on July 29 after reports of collision involving two vehicles.

Two people were treated by the ambulance service for serious injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life changing.

Officers blocked the road to allow emergency services to deal with the incident and to wait for the vehicles to be recovered.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “We received a report at 7.19am of a two-vehicle collision on the B3078 north of Wimborne.

“Two people were treated by the ambulance service for injuries that were believed to be serious but not life-threatening or life changing.

“Road closures have been put in place to allow the emergency services to respond and for the vehicles to be recovered.”

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 07:24hrs on Monday 29 July to a road traffic collision near Wimborne Minster.

"We sent three double-crewed land ambulances and a rapid response vehicle to the scene and conveyed three patients by land ambulances to Poole Hospital.”
