A WOMAN was put in hospital after a reported serious sexual assault.
The woman in her 30s was in Poole General Hospital shortly before 6am on Sunday, July 28 with injuries to her face and wrist.
She told people at the hospital that she had been subject to a “serious sexual assault”, according to a police spokesman.
Enquiries by officers found it she had been allegedly assaulted in the area of Haskells recreation ground in Newtown, Poole in the late evening of Saturday, July 27.
A police cordon and crime scene investigators were seen at a property in Ringwood Road, Poole, on Sunday afternoon.
No arrests have been made by officers yet.
Dorset Police’s spokesman said: “The victim is being supported by specially trained officers and a full investigation has been launched into this incident.
“There will be an increased policing presence in the vicinity as enquiries are carried out and officers can be approached by members of the public with information or concerns.”
