SOME 100 dogs turned up wagging their tails in excitement for a Day of the Dog fiesta party.
Four-legged friends were treated to a customised menu including scrambled eggs, chicken, and rice as well as tacos and other Mexican delicacies.
Hosted by Dorset Dogs CIC, the event celebrated the significant role dogs play in their human lives, supporting mental health and well-being, social interaction, and aiding those with disabilities. Reiki Master Jan Ryan provided blessings for each dog, adding a special touch to the day.
Independent businesses such as Marshalls Pet Store, Barking Bobbins, BFF Eternal Love, and Vicky Beale Crafts supported the fun-filled fiesta at Ojo Rojo on Commercial Road, Bournemouth on July 29.
Nicky Crowe, director of Dorset Dogs CIC and Merlin’s Pet Food Bank said: “We had an absolutely fantastic day, celebrating our dogs, with a great turnout in the sunshine.
“Everything a dog could have hoped for, we provided for! A rainbow sprinkler, bobbing for sausages, 'tequila shots' filled with bone broth, doggy dancing and disco and ball pits and tunnels and so much fun for all.
“A big thank you goes out to our Dorset Dogs CIC volunteers, without whom we could not do any of our charity work for pets around Dorset, and to the Ojo Rojo team for making this event possible.”
