MOTORBIKES being ridden in an “anti-social manner” were found dumped in a Poole road.

Police officers in Poole recovered three stolen motorbikes in Rossmore on Monday afternoon, July 29.

Two of the bikes were seized by the police having been found in Arne Avenue along with an unregistered off-road bike in Turlin Moor, allegedly being ridden on the road with no insurance.

According to Poole police officers, the bikes in Rossmore were “riding off the road down a footpath in a manner likely to cause distress or annoyance to members of the public”.

The bikes have been returned to their owners and enquiries into the incidents are ongoing.

A spokesman for Poole police said: “Police have various powers in dealing with motorbikes being ridden on or off the roads in an antisocial manner.

“Vehicles will often be seized and subject to costly charges to recover them or in the case of the off road bike being used on the road, this will be destroyed.

“Community intelligence is key for us to effectively target and deal with those responsible for stealing bikes as well as using them in an antisocial manner, which can be an extremely dangerous activity for both the rider and members of the public.

“If you have any information about people responsible for stealing bikes, riding bikes in an antisocial manner either on or off road, we want you to share this with us to help make Poole a safer place. This can even be done anonymously.
