The alert is in place for across Dorset and Wiltshire, with the counties’ fire service asking people to avoid BBQs and open fires during the hot weather.
It also asked that people extinguish smoking materials properly, and to take any litter home.

An amber alert means that, should a wildfire be started, it could spread quickly and easily due to the dry conditions.
The greatest risk is on large areas of open land, including heathlands, fields and cliffsides.
