THE world's smallest stunt rider has come to Poole with a circus of 'sensational' acts.

Circus Vegas's nationwide tour has stopped off at Branksome Recreation Ground from Friday, July 26, to Sunday,  August 4.

This year's production features the 'globe of death' with not just one but three extreme stunt riders, including George the Dragon, who, at 4 feet tall, is the world's smallest stunt rider.

George said he had always dreamt of travelling the world while growing up in his home country of Cuba.

He said: "In the circus ring, I feel like a giant.

"I am always learning new skills and developing my act, and three years ago, I decided to really push myself and become a stunt rider.

"No dream is too big no mater your size if you really apply yourself and try hard."

George is also featured as a clown in the show, which is how he began his career at 17. George, alongside Ryan and Edy the clowns, keeps the audience amused throughout the show.

George added: "I was always good at making people laugh, which is why I decided to make it my career by becoming a clown."

Circus Vegas merges Las Vegas traditions and contemporary styles with extreme stunts and classic clown escapades.

Elaine Courtney is in charge of putting the show together; she selects the acts, handmakes the costumes, and curates "jaw-dropping moments that defy gravity, question logic, and will leave the audience in pure amazement."

She said: "We try to keep the show really fast-paced. I want people to come out saying, 'god, those two hours flew by.'

"I have been in the circus ring since I was six, being in the ring and out it is my interest to make the show the absolute best it can be."

Other performances include a nail-biting hair-hanging act, where one performer hangs upside down from an aerial chandelier. While suspended, they hold another performer by their hair, who in turn holds on using only their teeth.

Circus Vegas also features high and low wires, magicians, jugglers and hula hoopers and dance acts.
