A POPULAR Southwest bakery is coming to Wimborne this September.

Established in 1952, Reeve the Baker is well known for its array of baked delicacies and friendly atmosphere.

Now, a new bakery tied to the brand is opening on Wimborne High Street.

The company has stores in Blandford, Sherborne, Ringwood, and Shaftesbury as well as other bakeries across Somerset and Hampshire.

The new café will be taking over café Aroma, a business that has now moved next door.

Gary Reeve, managing director said: “We are delighted to announce that after many years of looking, we are finally coming to Wimborne Minster.

“We will be on the High Street, just off the Market Square, and hope to be open in the 2nd week of September after a full refit of the shop.

“We are very proud to be able to join the local Wimborne community and believe that our artisan bakery products will compliment the vibrant blend of local and national retailers already present in Wimborne.

“We already have some shops nearby, in Ringwood & Blandford but for those who don’t know us, we are a family-owned and run artisan bakery based in Wilton, Wiltshire where we make award-winning sourdough bread, cakes, and buns fresh every day.

“We also make filled rolls & sandwiches in-store and bake our own made savouries, including our renowned cheese straws, in each shop all day every day.

“Whether you are looking for breakfast or a quick coffee, a small snack or lunch, a sourdough loaf or a cake to take home we hope we will have something for you.

“We really look forward to being part of Wimborne Minster for many years to come and welcoming you to our bakery.”

The new store will also offer unsold food at a reduced price through a popular food waste app, ‘Too Good To Go’.

Customers will be able to purchase £4 worth of items valued at £12 in a magic bag that will act as a lucky dip of unsold baked goods.

The company has sold over 6,500 magic bags before the scheme started in 2023.
