POLICE have been patrolling Bournemouth Central Gardens to tackle drug dealing.

Bournemouth neighbourhood policing team has increased its foot patrols in Bournemouth town centre to stop this behaviour.

Officers are encouraging the public the stop them while on patrols and ask any questions.

Any signs of street drug dealing should be reported on the Dorset Police website.

This data goes into an “intelligent mapping system” that allows officers to target patrols and maximise efficacy.

Bournemouth police shared in a social media post: “Sophie from Bournemouth South's Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) has been on foot patrol in Central Gardens following reports of drug dealing at this location.

“The local NPT are increasing foot patrols in this location to stop this behaviour in this area. Do stop our Officers if you see us out and about #WeAreHereForYou.

“If you observe repeated incidents of on street drug dealing, the most appropriate way to advise us of this is online via our website.

“The data goes into a very intelligent mapping system that allows us to target our patrols to maximise their efficacy and catch the bad guys.”
